1
To earth He came begotten not made
To a father and mother who were very afraid;
Afraid but obedient, they accepted with trust
And fled as directed, they did as they must.

(Interlude 1)

Into the cave they went from afar
And our mother gave birth to the Morning Star.
With angels, with shepherds, proclaiming the birth
Of a God who left heaven and came down to earth.

(Interlude 2)

3
O night so holy, the calm silent night
When the depth of darkness
Was pierced with great light;
The light of the world came forth from light;
The Son was begotten
How holy the night!

(Interlude 3)

4
The light came to enlighten the heart and the mind
And all those who seek, they soon will find.
The love that will comfort the pure and the poor
And gather the lost ones who come by the door.

5
The people of truth will know the way
And it all began on [this special day/first Christmas day]
Jesus, our Savior, was born on this night
And all you in darkness, come to the light.

Coda:
Lord Jesus Christ, you're the Morning Star!
